About

The WNMU Millennium III Honors Program serves students in all majors and minors with enriched courses and activities for bright, highly-motivated students. The Program focuses on active rather than passive learning, thereby offering its students a richer return on their investment of time, money, and effort as well as extended opportunities for intellectual and academic growth. Honors courses are intended to be more stimulating, challenging, and exciting than regular courses. Occasional social and cultural events are offered, as well.

How To Apply

Directions:

2. Complete the form and hit the Submit Application button. The form will then be e-mailed to the Millennium III Honors Program at WNMU (honors@wnmu.edu) who will process your form.
3. Once we receive your application, we will begin corresponding with you to guide you through the admissions process. And, if you have questions at any point during the process, do not hesitate to email us.

More About the Program

Honors Program Committee

The Honors Program Committee will provide overall guidance of the program and approve all policies and procedures. The committee will assist in the development and approve the designation of courses as honors courses, serve as honors advisors/mentors, hear appeals from decisions of the Honors Program Director, and collaborate in supporting activities of the Honors Program. The committee will have up to seven faculty members appointed by the Faculty Senate to two-year renewable terms. (The two-year term limit applicable to Faculty Senate appointed committees does not apply to this committee.) The committee will have up to two staff members, and up to four honors program student members, selected by the committee. The Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Honors Program Director are ex-officio, non-voting members.

Outdoor Classroom destinations include unique and challenging natural areas such as, White Sands National Monument, Carlsbad Caverns, and locations in the extensive Gila Wilderness. Classes and trips include investigation of sites of historical significance from pre-Columbian, Spanish, Mexican, and Territorial eras of New Mexico history.
